Field trips in elementary school are such a memorable event for students (especially riding the bus and sitting with friends). This year, our 2nd grade was able to go to a nature center (thanks to our STEAM program and amazing STEAM teacher) located right in our city. Students enjoyed taking a gentle hike and learning all about rocks.
If you are ever in Fontana, I highly suggest checking Mary Vagle Nature Center out! It is a quaint nature refuge with wildlife (ducks, butterflies, squirrels, and birds). The staff there are also very informative and friendly! My students were thoroughly engaged the entire time!
