Hey There! I’m Lena! Welcome to Sunny Stars! I am so glad you are here!
I am a second grade elementary school teacher in sunny California who LOVES teaching. I also love traveling, shopping, and spending time with my favorite two guys – my son and husband. I also like creating resources that makes our teacher lives easier! It’s something that I really, really enjoy doing and also at the same time – can utilize it for my own class!
Background
As I mentioned earlier, I love traveling. That “habit” may have all stemmed from moving around quite a bit at a young age. I was born in England, lived in Iran for a couple of years, moved back to England and eventually migrated to the United States. My family and I settled in California and that’s where I’ve remained. I graduated from University of Redlands with a B.A. in English Literature and received my Masters in Teaching with two credentials (multiple subject and education specialist) from Azusa Pacific University. I have been very fortunate and blessed to have attended amazing universities and learn best teaching practices and pedagogy.
Teaching
I’m on year 27. Phew! It’s been quite a journey. I have mostly taught 1 st grade (14 years) and the chance to teach in a mild/moderate special education setting (4 years). However, my ultimate favorite grade is 2nd grade! When I am not in the classroom, I am always thinking about the next thing!
